Albino Rubescens 🔴 ⚪️

Aulonocara sp. "Albino Rubescens" require a minimum 55-gallon tank with hard, alkaline water (

 7.8–8.6, temperature 75–82°F) and a sandy substrate. They are peaceful to semi-aggressive, best kept with other Lake Malawi Haps/Peacocks. Provide plenty of rock caves for hiding while maintaining open swimming areas. 

Key Care Requirements:

Tank Size: 55 gallons minimum; 75+ gallons is better for managing territoriality.

Water Conditions: 75–82°F (24–28°C), 

 7.5–8.6, and hard water (4-6 dH).

Diet: Omnivore. Provide high-quality, protein-rich pellets, supplemented with frozen foods like brine shrimp or bloodworms.

Aggression & Tank Mates: Generally, keep with other Malawi cichlids, such as Haps and other Peacocks. To minimize aggression, overstock the tank slightly or keep mostly males.

Environment: Sandy substrate for sifting and numerous rock formations for shelter.

Maintenance: 20-30% weekly water changes are crucial, as they are sensitive to poor water quality.
