Acclimation Recommendation

Carefully unpack your new African Cichlids. In winter months clean off insulation from packaging and float bags for 20 minutes to allow fish to acclimate to your tanks temperature. If any of your fish appear to be struggling to breath or laying on their side, immediately place fish in a smaller isolation tank with an extra air stone. (If iso tank is not available you can use a Tupperware temporarily to nurse fish back to health) Extra oxygen works wonders in a compact setting for fish struggling from shipping stress!
We recommend quarantining your new fish for a few days but if you cannot it's best to rearrange your tank to help shake up the tank hierarchy for your new additions to find their place. Keep the lights off as well. Cichlids have very good vision so it will be harder for your tank boss to see the new guys.
Lastly, ENJOY YOUR NEW FISH AND THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING J&J CICHLID ADDICTION LLC!
