Tank Size: A minimum of 55 gallons is recommended, with 75 gallons or more preferred for a group. 

Substrate: Fine gravel or sand is suitable, as they like to burrow and sift. 

Decor: Plenty of rock formations, caves, and hiding spots are essential to mimic their natural habitat and reduce aggression. 

Filtration: A strong filtration system is crucial to maintain water quality and clarity. 

Lighting: Subdued lighting is preferable.

pH: 7.5-8.5 

Temperature: 76-82°F (24-28°C) 

Hardness: Moderate to hard water with a hardness level of 4-6 dH. 

Regular Water Changes: 20-30% weekly water changes are necessary to maintain low nitrate levels. 

Diet:

Ruby Red Peacock Cichlids are omnivores and require a varied diet.

High-quality cichlid pellets or flakes should form the staple.

Supplement with live or frozen protein sources like brine shrimp or bloodworms.

Include vegetable matter such as blanched spinach or zucchini.
