Electric Fryeri

The Electric Blue Fryeri (Sciaenochromis fryeri) is a stunning, moderately aggressive Lake Malawi haplochromine cichlid known for its intense blue color and, in some variants, red-tipped fins. Growing up to 8 inches, they require at least a 75-gallon aquarium with rocky, cave-filled, and open-swimming areas. 

Key Care Guidelines:

Diet: Carnivorous. They are predators in the wild, so they require a diet high in protein.

Water Parameters: pH 7.6–8.8, Temperature 24–28°C 

Tank Mates: Best suited for other African Haps and Peacocks. They can be territorial, especially males, and should not be kept with overly timid fish.

Behavior: They are active swimmers that prefer to hide in caves and crevices within rockwork.
