Appearance: Males are bright yellow with blue faces and blue and orange fin markings. They have pointed dorsal and anal fins, and elongated pelvic fins. Females are smaller and less colorful, with a silvery-gray color and faint dark vertical bars. 

Size: Males can grow to 6 inches, while females are considerably smaller. 

Temperament: Males are more territorial and can be aggressive. Crowding the tank with peaceful tank mates can help prevent bullying. 

Lifespan: With proper care, Sunshine Peacocks can live 6–10 years. 

Tank requirements: Juveniles can live in a 50-gallon tank, but adults need 75–100 gallons. They prefer a tank temperature of 77–84°F and a pH of 7.5–9.0. 

Breeding: Females carry fertilized eggs in their mouths for 1–2 weeks, carrying 10–20 eggs at a time. 

Tank setup: Rocks and fine sand can help establish boundaries and prevent aggression. Real aquatic plants can help absorb carbon dioxide and nitrates, while releasing oxygen.
